AzKaL fEvEr '06

A. I should have updated this blog last last weekend. Yah know, just like I always do. But, unfortunately, I was really really busy and tired. I know you'd so like to ask me about the title I had for this entry and I'm sure you are so curious about the word "azkal". Well, AZKAL is a short-word for asong-kalye (a dog in the street). And, well, azkals are the Philippine Football Team. And yah, you got it right. I met them, and instantly fell in love. LOL. Well, last SEAGAMES'05, I am sure I was able to mention that I find James and Philip Younghusband cute. Well, they are! Duh. Anyways, I wasn't really able to meet them because I wasn't given the chance to. I saw them on TV and I almost screamed "these brothers are mine!". Well, I can't just say that now can I? Since, almost everyone who has seen them are in love with them too. Basically, I hated myself because I did not pushed through with the plans of seeing them and the rest of the team and of course, seeing them in action. I just accepted the fact that I was not the luckiest girl ever to have met them and that, I will never get to meet them. How sad. Well... I concentrated on Baby Kee (I don't have any idea if he is still alive today, so don't ask me.)

B. Well, ever heard the words, "If it happens, it happens. And if it doesn't happens today, fate will find its way to make it happen." And believe me, because I could attest to that. My story will. Last November 7, 2006 was my good friend, Dayne Catalonia's 18th birthday. She celebrated it last November 11, 2006. It was such a pretty nerve-wrecking day. Since, I don't know what jeepney to ride to the venue of her debut. Good thing, my mom's good friend accompanied me and took me there. So, armed with a backpack (for my overnight stuff and girly things), a paperbag (my gown) and a gift (Sel and I shared) we went to Palmas del Mar. I was pretty anxious and nervous because my mom's friend is only gonna drop me and once she drops me, I'll be alone finding the debutante and Sel. So, when we arrived there, I texted Dayne and Sel (thank God, I was unlimited. GLOBE!) and Dayne told me to look for room number 4. Funny was, I asked the receptionist and she told me to go out and look for it on the left side. (I was half-expecting that she'd ask someone who works there to take me to the room, but she didn't.) So, I went out alone. I was too busy thinking of what to do and praying that Sel and Dayne would reply to my text messages. I decided to go back only to be approached by Dayne's sister and to my surprise, I saw cute and hot guys who were clad in blue uniforms with a Philippine flag on the top. The first guy, just looked at me curiously and I was shy. the next guy was so cute he was blushing. Our eyes met and he smiled at me. I smiled at him too. Then, I walked with Dayne's sister and I thought to myself "that guy was kinda familiar I don't know where I saw him." But it did hit me that it was Philip Younghusband. Just for one minute. But, I was hesitant because how could he be here when he is in London? So, I did not mind. I went into the room and Dayne, Sel, Dayne's mom and sister talked and listened. Dayne suddenly quipped "Mika, do you know that the Philippine Football Team is here?" And I'm like, "Oh sh*t. I think it was Philip Younghusband that I saw." So, Sel was like, "we'll look for them later if they're really here." So I smiled and just kept on thinking. Duh. How could have I been so not aware that it was actually ASEAN? But, well, I am not a fan of Local TV News (especially here in Bacolod), but whatever! I am gonna look for them and see James in person. So the party started and everyone in their formal gowns and attires enjoyed. Hey, I even get to tell something about the debutante.ü Well, it was always about "what you risk is what you value" thing I told her. I never get tired of saying this, eversince she asked for an advice from me. get this, she even returned this advice to me. LOL. Well, during the dance between the Queen (Dayne) and her 18 roses, my mom called me up and told me that she could see me. I walked up to her and while she was calling someone on the phone, Rosel was looking at me. I knew what she has in her mind. And I decided to connive with my mom and told her to tell Rosel I am going home and I decided not to spend the night at the resort. But, well, in the end I gave in and told her it was a joke. Sel and I walked my mom out of the hotel and as we were about to go back to the party, three cute guys called us according to Rosel. So, I turned around and we stopped. Here is the conversation.
Guy1 (Darren Hartmann): Do you have a schedule tomorrow?
I was busy looking at the other guy, because he was so familiar and he was the guy who smiled at me earlier that afternoon. But I noticed that the guy ho spoke to us waited. He did for like 5 seconds...LOL.
Me (Mika Glaraga) : Ah, I'm sorry?
Guy1 (Darren Hartmann): "May laro kmi bukas gusto niyo bang manood? ("We have a game tomorrow, would you like to watch?")In Filipino but with a cute Brit accent!)
Me and Sel : Sure, thanks! (We got the tickets and we turned our backs and ran as fast as our heels could take us back to the party and to our table where we happily talked about it. I just realized at that moment, that Rosel and I were lucky to have tickets and were even luckier because when we ran, we didn't fall into the pond. LOL.

So, there we were it was late in the evening when the party finished, and while some people were clearing up the stuff, Leslie, San-San, Pepay, Rosel and Me took pictures and posed like Hollywood Stars/Models. LOL. After that, we decided hcih room to sleep and I relayed the conversation to Joelyn. He was forever beging me to go and ask for tickets again, this time tickets for him. And I was like, "hello, it's 12 in the morning, and I swear they were sleeping. Just tomorrow, ok?" Then at around 1 in the morning, we swam by the kiddie private pool. The only pool where we were allowed to swim at that time. Duh. But, we did enjoyed and we felt cold. LOL. Then, after the simming rituals, we changed and went out because we were hungry. Imagine, I went out in the convenient store just wearing nothing but my pj's. Now, how many girls like me could carry that out? LOL. We slept at almost 4 in the morning and woke up at around 6. Pepay and I went out. Much to our surprise, Joelyn was there walking over to us and asked for the cellphone charger. I gave it to him. I turned my back and saw Phil playing with a big ball (the one they used in gyms), and I couldn't help but smile. I swear I could have shouted "Oh what a beautiful morning!", but I was being my demure self, so I just pretended to jog my excitement off. By 7 am, we decided to occupy someone's balcony as ours as very filthy because of the food we had from the store. Well, we sat by the table and I was having some scenic view! Philip Younghusband could be seen clearly. Anyways, after ten miuntes of seeing things clearly, Philip and his friend/teammate (Chris Greatwich!) passed by behind us, and we were surprised that they were actually knocking at the door. I just held my phone because I couldn't resist jumping, again... Playing my demure self. LOL. To our surprise, the occupant of the room was Darren Hartmann. We all looked back at them, and to my amazement, I quipped "Good Morning!" and I smiled. All followed suit and Darren asked questions again.
Darren: "Kayo ba yung maingay kagabi?" ("are you the ones who were noisy last night?")
Me: Yah, we're sorry. (I smiled.)
Then, as I looked at my friends, Darren suddenly remembered Sel and I. He said to Phil and Chris, "Hey these are the girls we gave tickets to last night." And he pointed Sel and I. Phil nod. He looked cute.ü Ok, next thing was, they walked by the pool and stayed by the bridge. They were talking. And soon, they all went back to their rooms and I turned on the TV and put it on full volume since it was MYMP on the t singing my fave classic song, "Nakapagtataka". I even sang along, and to my surprise, Darren stood by the door, I muted the tv and he said...
Darren: What band is that? (while looking at me)
Me: MYMP. (omg, i was so rude i didn't let him in.)
Darren: have you seen them?
Me: No, not yet.
Darren: I have seen them and I even got their number.
Me: Oh really? U are so lucky, then.
Then, Sel was like, "who were you talking to?" And I said, "Darren".
Well, I had seen Phil Younghusband, but I am still not contented. I want to see someone else, someone who goes by the name... James Younghusband. I was sitting by the bridge (emo-style! as if.)and Joleyn and Rosel were standing behind me. I was busy thinking and unravelling my thoughts. When I looked up and saw someone walking. He was so handsome and he looked familiar despite he was walking slowly and lokking down. Maybe he is shy because there are lots of people. And I looked at him intently and tried to identify him. I immediately stood up and made my famous "mika" grooves.
Dayne, Sel, Leslie and Joelyn ask if I was ok. And I wanted to shout, but I can't. Being my demure self again! Dayne asked if I was ok. I said, "yah. I saw James Younghusband, you know Phil's bro." And they were like, "where?"
Ok, next things... We had our pics taken with the football team.

C. To cut the long story short, we met the Philippine Football Team and we had our pics taken. Before we went home, we had lucnh with Dayne at their house and came home. Of course, we had tickets, so well...What are free tickets from cute and hot guys for? Of course, to watch. So, without rest, we decided to head to the Panaad Stadium and shouted for the Philippine team. We so enjoyed it and I screamed "I love you, James!" and I found #2 cute. His name is Philip Greatwich. Ok, whatever. I gotta go now. Miss yah!

PS: This entry has been in my Save as Draft and I have to post it for all of you to read. Sorry to keep you waiting, but I just have to tell all of you by details! Yey! Love yah, guys!
